Internet
Marketing Is the Next Generation
In the past, marketing was done through promotional campaigns, billboards, telemarketing, magazine advertising, commercials, brochures and other conventional methods. These methods work, and will most likely be around for years to come. Other methods, such as phone books and catalogues are on the way out. Why? Simple, nobody has the time to look through them anymore. It takes seconds to look up a phone number online. With the technology on a consistent rise, people do not have the patience to look through old methods of advertisement. You can simply do so much more with an online catalogue than something that is sent through snail mail. Online advertising methods are far more measurable than any other method of advertising. With the ability to track customers from the time they entered a website, to the time they purchased an item, marketers have the ability to do more consumer behavior studies. The tracking can easily be exported into spreadsheets and then can be manipulated into an equation to give a general description of a typical consumer. There is no more need to call and promote anything, when customers will leave their information every time they see your ad online. Search engines are going to be the winner of the internet marketing wars. With increased competition, and online markets becoming more important for companies, search engines will have companies at their mercy. It’s as simple as this; if you’re not found online, then your site does not get any traffic. No traffic will give you zero online business. I’m not even talking about the eCommerce websites of this world. I am talking about the company websites that are out there to give information about their firm. Marketing online is based on words. Key words have prices, and their prices will increase with competition. It will be key word guerilla marketing, and if your company does not get on the information superhighway now you will pay for it in the future. Let the fight for search engine positioning begin! Conclusion to this will be the survival of the fittest, sharpest, and brightest webmasters and internet marketers of tomorrow. Adapting to the constantly changing online market, analytical abilities, and online research are the only methods to success. The companies that figure this out first will have the best positioned sites in the online market.
